The WP Mini Rugby Day is one of the most significant inter-school sporting events to take place in the Western Cape at a primary school level. The annual event kicks off once a year where schools from throughout the Cape Peninsula take part in the biggest rugby event for kids in the world. Spectators, including grandparents, moms and dads, and brothers and sisters, all attend this day to “Spur” on their young and aspiring rugby players.
Over the past few years we have seen record numbers of participants, with more than 3500 children in the Under 7, Under 8 and Under 9 categories competing. All teams are kitted out by Spur Steak Ranches in colour-coded rugby shirts, according to their role in the event.
